Copper concentrator project on hold

OUTOTEC has put a Russian copper concentrator project on hold due to financial difficulties.

The leader in minerals processing and metallurgical technologies was to deliver concentrator technology for the Russian Copper Company’s (RCC) Miheevsky project during the fourth quarter of 2008.

According to RCC, the $345m project will be re-started when project funding becomes available.

It is not known how long the operation will be put on hold. Outotec says the suspension will not affect its outlook for 2008.
