LORENTZ has released a series of pumps specifically suited to the mining industry.
The PS4000 Centrifugal series utilises a brushless DC water filled motor design is said to combine the high efficiency of a traditional DC-motor and the simple construction and reliability of an AC motor.
The unit also features permanent rare earth magnets rather than wearing brushes. Both the pump-ends and motors are made from entirely 316 grade stainless steel. The pumps themselves are said to be made from much thicker stainless steel than their counterparts.
According to the company, the pumps come with an above ground controller that provides maximum power point tracking, remote monitoring and display functions.
This pumping series coupled with up to 5kW of solar power can deliver volumes of up to 300 cubic metres daily from a 20m head. The maximum lift capability is 170m at which it can still deliver 30 cubic metres daily.
Additionally, the PS9k and PS15k use a newly developed motor and controller boasting all the functions of the traditional PS controller. This combination, together with up to 15kW of solar power, can deliver 500 cubic metres daily at 20m head and 130 cubic metres daily at 140m head.
Lorentz pumps are distributed by BW Solar.
