LONGJI Magnet’s Australian distributor Serpent and Dove says Longji Tramp Iron Magnets can improve the efficiency of mineral processing.
‘Tramp iron’ is unwanted iron that turns up in most processes and costs huge amounts of money annually in damage to capital plant such as crushers, grinders and milling equipment, as well as in downtime and lost production.
Serpent and Dove says damaging items could range from a nail to a train wheel but they can all be removed with Longji Tramp Iron Magnets (also known as Tramp Iron Separators or Conveyor Magnets), before creating havoc.
The magnets are available in sizes and styles to suit any application, Longji magnets can be applied to efficiently remove damaging iron.
The magnets can be permanent or electro types in manual or self-cleaning styles depending on requirements.
Serpent and Dove recently conducted tests to determine the magnetic field strength required to remove grinding balls (the most difficult shape to remove) from gold ore for an Australian mine. A magnet of appropriate strength was recommended and applied with great success and savings. Another magnet, supplied to a brick making plant has improved up-time by over 10%.
